Save File Locations

Below is a list of the locations for world saves, for sharing or creating backups:

Local Saves
Open your file browser and enter the following path: %USERPROFILE%/Saved Games/

Cloud saves
If you have Steam Cloud active, please check this URL to access your save files:

You can also upload your local saves to the Steam Cloud. To do so, while Steam Cloud is turned off:

  1. Backup and then delete the files in this folder:
    C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\userdata\\YourSteamUserID\\1203620\\remote
    (You can find your Steam User ID listed as your Friend Code in the Steam settings under \"Account\")

  2. Copy the files from
    %USERPROFILE%/Saved Games/enshrouded
    into
    C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\userdata\\YourSteamUserID\\1203620\\remote\n

  3. Turn on Steam Cloud for Enshrouded

  4. When starting the game, a \"cloud out of sync\" pop-up should appear; select retry / use local

Dedicated Server Host saves
For dedicated servers and their providers, the files are either located under the same path as your server exe or in the top level of the providers file manager:

Save File Names

The file names of world saves are static hexadecimals, given to each world in order of creation:

World 1:  3ad85aea
World 2:  3bd85c7d
World 3:  38d857c4
World 4:  39d85957

Each world save has 10 numbered rolling copies, for backup and rollback purposes. A new copy is created every 10 minutes or when shutting down the game, overwriting the oldest copy. You can refer to the modified date in your file browser to check when which copy was created. Below is an example:

Rolling Back

Each world has an accompanying -index file, in which the currently active world save number is written under \"latest\". For rollback purposes, when loading the -index file into a text editor, the number can be changed as desired to a value from 0 to 9, 

Before making any changes, it is highly recommended to create a copy of all save files, to prevent accidental loss of data.
