To report a bug, please select "Report a Bug" in the games Escape menu. If the Escape menu is not available to you, for example because the game is not starting, please use this form instead. By sharing screenshots and videos of the reported issue, you can help us speed up our investigations. Please add a detailed description of your issue with steps to reproduce if possible, as well as the following files:
1 - DxDiag
Press the Windows-Key + R, type dxdiag and confirm:
In the new window select "Save All Information..." and attach the generated dxdiag.txt file to your report.
2 - Client log file
Right-click on Enshrouded in your Steam library, hover over "Manage" and select "Browse local files":
In the new window you will find a file named enshrouded.log as well as a folder called "backup", which contains previous logs:
Please create a zip archive of both and attach it to your report.
3 - Cloud save files
If you have Steam Cloud saves enabled (which is the default), please check this URL to download and attach the most recent files from before and after the issue occurred:
If the above is not available to you, Steam also creates a local copy of the cloud saves, although the file path is different for everyone:
To find Steams local copy of Enshrouded cloud saves, navigate to the installation path of Steam itself. Open the folder called "userdata" and in there the folder named after your Steam ID.
If there are multiple users playing on the same machine, there may be multiple IDs present, but you can find your own via the Steam Settings under Account, listed as Friend Code:
Once within the folder that is named after your Steam ID, find the folder that is called "1203620", which is the Steam App-ID for Enshrouded. Finally, in that folder is another folder called "remote", where all the cloud saves are locally stored and synced.
So for the above example, with the default installation path for Steam, the file path is the following:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\1509843949\1203620\remote
You will have to replace your own installation path and Steam User ID to get to the same location.
4 - Local save files
If you have Steam Cloud saves disabled, press the Windows-Key + R, type %USERPROFILE%/Saved Games/ and confirm:
In the new window you will find a folder called "enshrouded". Please create a zip file of this folder and attach it to your report.
5 - Dedicated server host log file & saves
If you are using the dedicated server tool or a server provider like GPortal, the files are either located under the same path as your server executable or in the top level of the provider's file manager where you can find:
- the log folder in the "logDirectory": "./logs"
- the backup folder “./logs/backup"
- and the "saveDirectory": "./savegame" where you can find dedicated server host saves
